Abstract

The paper presents the results of research and development of the tools for preproduction engineering management and determination of its effetiveness at mechanical engineering enterprises.

Research object – preproduction engineering processes.

Research aim – development of the model of management index estimation, taking into account characteristic features of mechanical engineering enterprises.

Today, one of the means to increase an enterprise competitiveness is proactive work, which consists in elaboration of such management methodology that integrates tools, processes and knowledge of the existing management methodologies with the knowledge, tools and processes of preproduction engineering at the mechanical engineering enterprises, i. e. elaboration of a customized management methodology.

At the same time, one of the main preproduction methodology directions is automation of management and decision making processes, based on creation and application of IT technologies and systems. Integrated CAD / CAM / CAE and PDM systems provide automation of the most production processes.

To solve the problems related to calculating the span of control of preproduction engineering processes, a structural approach is used to provide operational analysis of the main elements of the enterprise subdivisions activities and their interrelations.

We propose to expand the “span of control” notion by introducing a management index Ithat takes into account complexity of the new relationship within preproduction engineering and makes it possible to calculate statistical time indices for the functions, which describe decision making operations in simulation models.

A model has been developed for calculating the number of employees required to ensure effective preproduction engineering processes.
